Anesthesia

The day of the procedure
The technique chosen by your aesthetic doctor will vary according to the defects observed and the strategy chosen to correct them.
During the first stage of the operation, the surgeon will remove the fat from the donor site using a non-traumatic micro-cannula. This first phase is called liposuction.
The fat is centrifuged in order to isolate the adipocytes.
The fat is then reinjected into your face through 1 mm micro-incisions, using micro-cannula. These injections increase volume and fill in local tissues, restoring tissue tension.
The duration of the procedure depends on the quantity of fat to be reinjected and the number of locations to be treated. It can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
After the procedure
The afternath of facial lipofilling is not very painful.
As a general rule, an oedema appears during the 48 hours following the intervention. It will generally take 5 to 15 days to be completely resorbed.
Bruising appears in the first few hours in the fat reinjection areas, and resolves itself within 10 to 20 days after the procedure.
Social and professional leave is required for a few days due to the presence of edema and bruising, but if this does not suit the patient, activities can be resumed after 3 days.
Sun exposure should be avoided during the first month to prevent skin pigmentation.
Results
The result is appreciable after a period of three to six months. if the indication has been correctly set, the result is generally very satisfactory.
It’s important to bear in mind that, even with impeccable technique and the expertise of your surgeon, there is a variable difference of 20 to 40% between the amount of fat re-injected and the amount of fat taken up by the graft, due to the fact that some of the re-injected fat will reabsorb.
