Purpose of a facelift
The facelift makes it possible to considerably and durably rejuvenate the face by redefining its contours. This aesthetic procedure consists of repositioning sagging tissues (muscles and fat) into their correct position, restoring their full tone without the need to create additional volume.
Today, there is not one, but several types of facelift, depending on the aesthetic corrections desired: cervico-facial, forehead, temporal, soft-lifting, total facelift, partial facelift or neck lift.

The facelift and its specific variations are recommended when skin slackening is important and a mini-invasive operation is insufficient to obtain the desired result. By reshaping the face, its oval and the neck, the facelift allows a real rejuvenation, up to 6 to 8 years depending on the patient, and its results last on average ten years. It can be combined with eyelid surgery, lipostructure, neck liposuction or aesthetic medicine treatments.
It’s essential to aim for a subtle, undetectable result to preserve the authenticity of features and avoid the trap of a standardized, perfectly oval or overly drawn face.
Who is the Facelift for?
If the aging of your face, neck and sagging skin are bothering you, a facelift may be the solution for you.
The simple restoration of the different anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat) will allow your face to regain the appearance it had a few years ago.

The most frequently performed procedure is the cervico-facial lift, a surgical technique designed to correct the effects of aging on the lower two-thirds of the face, from the temples to the neck, using techniques such as tension threads to redefine the oval of the face.
A facelift redefines the contours of the face while providing a natural aesthetic result. To further enhance the appearance, lipofilling can be performed to restore volume.
This procedure is performed under anesthesia and precisely targets the desired areas, to harmoniously restore your face’s youthful appearance.
A facelift is a surgical procedure that can imply risks and complications. A first consultation with your surgeon is essential to know if this intervention is adapted to your particular situation.
Before and after pictures
The facelift procedure
The facelift will positively transform the harmony of your face. The results are definitive. Follow your surgeon’s recommendations to optimize the healing process and the quality of the result.
Before the intervention
The first consultation is essential to understand your request and your motivations. It’s also an opportunity for your surgeon to carefully analyze your facial anatomy to ensure that the procedure will beautify your face and bring real facial rejuvenation.
A pre-operative health check will be carried out to verify the absence of contraindications.
Anesthesia
The facelift is generally performed under local anaesthesia with sedation. However, in some cases, a general anaesthesia is preferred. The choice of the technique will be made between you, your anesthesiologist and your surgeon.
A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.
The day of the procedure
The incision is usually hidden in the hair and around the ear. From these incisions, the skin is detached from the deep tissues The extent of the detachment may vary depending on the degree of skin laxity. We then proceed to an extremely precise and dosed tightening of the musculo-aponeurotic plane, in order to correct the deep sagging, while preserving the face’s natural expression.
In case of localized fat, liposuction or lipectomy can be performed at the same time, either on the neck, chin, jowls or cheeks. If there is a of loss of volume, lipofilling will often prove effective in harmonizing the final result.
The redraped skin will follow the shape created by muscle mobilization, lipostructure or liposuction. The excess skin is removed. Men have particular characteristics that require special attention: thicker skin, displacement of hairy areas, etc.
Depending on the importance of the corrections, the procedure can last from two to four hours.
After the procedure
The discharge may take place either the next day or two days after the operation. The first 10 days, you will have to rest as much as possible and avoid any strong effort.
The face will remain swollen for about two weeks. Certain facial movements are to be avoided. It will take two weeks to be presentable, two months to be impeccable . Follow your surgeon’s instructions on how to optimize the healing process. Assisted by our expert physiotherapist, manual lymphatic drainage from the second week onwards, followed by Endermologie® drainage, is highly recommended to accelerate edema resorption and optimize healing.
The scars will be hidden in the hair. Only a small part of the scar will remain visible in front of the earlobe, but it can be concealed with hair or make-up.
Results
The results are already visible after two weeks, but can be fully appreciated after two months.
This facial beautifying operation provides a real rejuvenation of the face and sets back the biological clock. You will easily look 6 to 8 years younger.
The lifting restores firmness to the face. The results are convincing and last an average of ten years. This physical improvement is generally accompanied by psychological well-being.
The goal of this surgery is to provide an improvement, not to achieve perfection. If your expectations remain realistic, the obtained result should give you utmost satisfaction.
