About body liposuction
Objectives of liposuction
Liposuction or liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that consists of eliminating excess fat on different parts of the body (stomach, hips, saddlebags, thighs, etc.).
This procedure allows the permanent removal of fat cells.

Liposuction is intended to rebalance your entire figure, to create more harmony and symmetry.
Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the world. It will restore harmonious shapes and curves by removing certain areas of local fat.
The accumulation of fat on the buttocks, hips and saddlebags is relatively common. Fat deposits are often resistant to dieting and regular exercise.
Liposuction is then used to remove persistent and localized fat deposits. It is a simple, radical and definitive solution.
Who is liposuction for?
Liposuction is intended for patients with moderate excess fat in the stomach, thighs, saddlebags, buttocks and/or hips.
This procedure is not intended for overweight or obese people because it is not a weight loss solution. Because it targets localized fat, it is indicated for people who are close to their ideal weight.

However, liposuction can be beneficial once the goals of a weight loss diet are achieved to eliminate residual fat. The intervention is possible from the age of 18.
The results of a liposuction of the buttocks are excellent when the skin is supple and elastic and when the fatty deposits are localized and not “diffuse”. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that can involve risks and complications.
A first consultation with your surgeon is essential to know if this intervention is adapted to your particular situation.

Procedure for liposuction of the buttocks
Liposuction will positively transform your figure. The results are final.
Follow your surgeon’s recommendations to optimize the healing process and the quality of the result.
Before the intervention
The first consultation is essential to understand your request and your motivations. A preliminary clinical examination and a precise questioning will allow our specialist to define the most appropriate type of surgery for your case.
Your surgeon will take the time to precisely analyze your bone structure, the location and volume of fatty tissue in the buttocks, hips and outer thighs, and the overall curves of the figure, as well as the quality of the skin and skin laxity.
A preoperative check-up will be carried out in accordance with the prescriptions.
Anesthesia
In some cases, liposuction of the buttocks is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, but most often a local anesthesia under sedation will suffice. The choice of the technique will be made between you, your anesthesiologist and your surgeon.
A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.
The day of the procedure
Your surgeon will adapt his or her surgical strategy to your particular case in order to obtain the best possible result. The surgeon sucks out the fat cells using fine cannulas with rounded tips introduced into the areas to be treated through discreet and very short incisions.
Deep fat is thus removed in a harmonious way. The cannulas used should always be as fine as possible to avoid irregularities and to obtain the best possible skin retraction.
Bleeding and bruising are limited thanks to a vasoconstrictor and anesthetic solution.
The incisions are minimal and concealed at the hip level and measure 4 millimeters. They are located at the level of the elastic of the panties. Thus the scars are almost invisible from a distance.
At the end of the operation, a shaping compression aimed at limiting postoperative oedema is usually carried out using an adapted panty or elastic bands.
The duration of the intervention depends on the quantity of fat to be extracted and the number of locations to be treated. It can vary from 20 minutes to 3 hours (on average 1 to 2 hours).
After the procedure
It should be noted that the time required to recover from liposuction is proportional to the amount of fat extracted. In the post-operative period, ecchymoses (bruises) and edema (swelling) appear in the treated areas.
The pains are variable, but they are generally not very important, thanks to the use of very fine cannulas. Fatigue can be felt the first few days, especially in the event of significant fat extraction.
Normal activity can be resumed 2 to 10 days after the intervention, again depending on the importance of the liposuction and the type of professional activity. The bruises resorb within 10 to 20 days after the operation.
Wearing an elastic compression garment is recommended for 2 to 4 weeks. A resumption of sports activity can be expected 3 weeks after the operation. The operated areas should not be exposed to the sun or UV rays for at least 3 weeks.
Manual lymphatic drainage from the first days, followed by drainage by Endermologie® will accelerate the resorption of edema and optimize healing.
Results
It is only after 3 weeks, and after the resorption of this edema, that the result will begin to appear. It will take approximately 3 to 6 months for the skin to adapt completely on the new shape of the body.
The final result can be assessed after 6 months.
Liposuction of the buttocks thus offers a radical and definitive correction of excess fat. The goal of this surgery is to bring an improvement and not to achieve perfection. If your wishes are realistic, the result should give you great satisfaction.
