Procedure for an absorbable tensor thread session
A precise, personalized diagnosis is first established with your aesthetic doctor before the session, and a suitable procedure will be chosen according to the patient’s objectives.
It is important to avoid exposure to the sun, to be in good health and to be free of local skin infections on the day of surgery. Your doctor will explain the pre- and post-treatment recommendations at your first consultation.
Details of the procedure
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and does not require hospitalization. An injection at the entry points of the tensor threads provides complete analgesia.
The sutures are inserted through a micro-incision in the skin that does not require stitches. The procedure lasts an hour on average, and varies according to the number of threads required.
The patient can return home right after the session.
Aftermath
You can resume your activities immediately after the placement of absorbable tensioning sutures.
In most cases, you can return to work the very next day.
However, for 6 to 8 hours after the session, you should remain calm and avoid any violent exercise. It’s also recommended not to mobilize the face (sports, facials, massages), or laugh excessively.
Some bruising may be visible for about ten days. In the first few days, temporary irregularities may be observed due to the inhomogeneous distribution of the edema, which disappears within a few days. There may also be a small dimple, which will disappear after a week.
For a week, avoid any intense sports, sun exposure in the event of haematomas, and facial massages.
Results
The lifting effect is immediately visible, as the skin is tightened and lifted thanks to the tensor effect of the threads on the tissues.
The final result takes ten to fifteen days.
Even if the thread is reabsorbed within a few months, the effect generally lasts up to a year, as the skin reacts by producing collagen along the thread’s path.
