BBL Laser photorejuvenation objectives
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) laser treatment is the reference technique in photorejuvenation. It uses of a wide spectrum of light which makes it possible to correct and improve the texture of the skin.

The polychromatic light ray of the IPL lamp crosses the epidermis without damaging it. The heat induced by the light in the dermis will act on three targets :
- the capillaries, reducing redness
- melanin pigments, erasing sun spots
- the fibroblasts, cells that make new collagen, to firm the skin
In 2 to 3 sessions, the IPL treatment improves the quality of the skin in terms of structure and suppleness, and evens out the complexion. This treatment also has the advantage of causing no downtime.
Who is the BBL laser intended for?
IPL laser treatment is intended for women and men from the age of 18.
On your face, neck, décolleté and hands, you notice skin damage caused by sun exposure (mainly brown spots) and other imperfections linked to the passage of time (redness, age spots, dilated pores, dull complexion, fine lines and wrinkles).

It is not possible to perform the treatment on tanned skin, thus we recommend performing the sessions during autumn and winter.
An initial consultation with your specialist is essential to find out if this treatment is suitable for your particular situation.
Before and after pictures
Conduct of an IPL laser session
A precise skin assessment is established with the laser doctor during the first consultation, and an appropriate procedure will be chosen according to the patient’s objectives.
Details of the procedure
It is recommended not to expose yourself to the sun during the month preceding the session .
The IPL laser session lasts approximately between 30 minutes and up to an hour if other areas other than the face are concerned.
After cleaning and removing make-up from the areas to be treated, your specialist begins the treatment.
The session is done on an outpatient basis and the patient’s comfort is ensured thanks to an intensive air cooling system. In case of high sensitivity of the patient, sedation can be performed .
After laying down a fresh conductive gel, your laser doctor uses a handpiece to apply the light in series of pulses to the area to be treated.
It crosses the skin without damage and slightly heats the dermis, ust enough to cause a healing process at the origin of the formation of new collagen. During light pulses, a slight tingling sensation is perceived.
At the end of the session, the gel is removed, the skin is cleansed and a soothing and protective cream is applied. The patient can return home right after the session. The sessions are generally spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart.
Aftermath
You can resume your activities immediately after the IPL laser session.
A slight blush is possible after the session. It usually dissipates in 1 to 2 hours. It is also common to have to deal with a feeling of sunburn with transient edema (swelling). Fine crusts may appear the day after the session and will disappear in about 10 days.
Avoidance of the sun is imperative on the treated areas (cream index ip50+) for at least one month and sources of strong heat (sun, baths, saunas, hammams) are to be avoided for two months.
Results
Visible within a few days of the IPL laser session, the results become spectacular after 2 or 3 sessions .
The rejuvenating effect is natural, the skin takes on a new glow. Redness is cleared up, acne marks and brown pigment spots fade quickly. The skin takes on a smoother and more radiant appearance, as if rejuvenated, and the rough skin texture is noticeably smoothed.
Patients very often report a real “youthful look” effect, an unified complexion and a rested look.
Of course, the results are long-lasting and optimal if the skin is cared for (UV protection, hydration and quality cosmetic care).
An IPL session is recommended every 6 to 12 months to maintain the results.
The goal of this treatment is to bring about an improvement and not to achieve perfection. If your expectations remain realistic, the obtained result should give you utmost satisfaction.
