FUE is the acronym for Follicular Unit Extraction and consists of removing units of 1 to 4 hairs in order to obtain, after precise reimplantation, a most natural graft.

Gone are the old techniques of harvesting a graft of 2 mm or more, with the appearance of doll’s hair, or the harvesting of a strip of scalp with a heavier post-operative period and an occipital scar.
The FUE technique has the great advantage of being much more respectful of the grafts, with more natural results and very few drawbacks in terms of pain, scars, and recovery after the transplant.
The FUE technique allows for the reimplantation of more than 2500 follicular units, for a total of 5 to 10,000 hairs in one day of transplantation.

Collection of follicular units
Follicular unit sampling is performed under local anesthesia with a motorized suction system of 0.8 mm diameter. This allows the harvesting of a large number of grafts of very good quality, with very little handling and respect for the donor area.
Preparation of the grafts
The grafts are directly cooled to below 10 degrees, and preserved in a specific liquid for organ transplants. This allows the preservation of follicular units to be reimplanted under ideal conditions.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment
At the time of the transplant, we perform treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP)This treatment greatly improves the grafting process and the healing time, and greatly slows down the evolution of alopecia in the months following the transplant.
Re-implantation of hair
The grafts are re-implanted using implanters specifically designed for this purpose, with a more aesthetic result, a better orientation of the re-implanted hair, and less scarring.
Stimulation of regrowth
At the end of the session, a treatment with athermal laser light or LED, allows to decrease the healing time and to stimulate the growth of the hair.
Results
Reimplanted grafts take 7 to 10 days to settle into their new location. Between 10 and 15 days, a good part of them will eventually fall out, leaving a small root that will form a new hair. This will appear on the surface of the scalp between 3 and 9 months after the graft.
The final evaluation is usually done one year after that. Of course, we will accompany you until the final check-up to ensure the good evolution of your transplant.
