Orthodontics: treatment with Invisalign® aligners
Invisalign® treatment goals
Orthodontics aims to correct tooth misalignment using a variety of techniques. As part of orthodontic treatment, invisible braces (ALIGNERS) or orthodontic aligners are used to progressively align teeth in a discreet and aesthetic way. These are known as aligners.

Tooth realignment can restore the aesthetics of your smile, clean up gums that have become less accessible to brushing when teeth overlap, stop the forward migration of incisors, close unsightly gaps between teeth and straighten “tilted” or “lying” teeth in the spaces of missing teeth, for example in preparation for implant placement.
Aligners are a tailor-made, pain-free orthodontic technique that guarantees you a beautiful result with maximum comfort, without disrupting your professional or social life.
Regular replacement of the aligners allows you to gently modify the position of your teeth to achieve the desired result. Perfect alignment can be achieved in just a few months.
Who are aligners for?
More and more patients are turning to orthodontics not only to keep their teeth properly aligned, but also to prevent periodontal problems and tooth loss.
Ideally, treatment should begin at an early age, but more and more adults are turning to aliners to enhance their smile.

Candidates for ALIGNERS treatment may present the following orthodontic cases:
Tooth misalignment: caused in particular by overlapping, when there isn’t enough room for the teeth to position themselves correctly.
Excessive tooth spacing: caused by small teeth, poor jaw growth, lost teeth…
A mismatch between upper and lower teeth.
Ectopic tooth eruption: described by the growth of a tooth in an abnormal position in the jaw.
Teeth grinding (bruxism), especially at night.
An initial consultation with your specialist is essential to find out if this treatment is suitable for your particular situation.

Course of treatment with Invisalign® aligners
Treatment begins with a case study to model your mouth in 3D. Your specialist will take a panoramic X-ray, special impressions and extra- and intra-oral photographs.
After a few days, your orthodontist will present you with a computer simulation of your treatment, allowing you to preview the outcome. During this consultation, your specialist will inform you of the number of aligners required, the approximate duration of treatment and the investment involved. Once you’ve agreed, we’ll start manufacturing the aligners.
Before fitting the first mouthpiece, your specialist can attach small tooth-colored composite beads to your front teeth (for a better grip) or polish them between the teeth to make them “slide” more easily.
You must wear your aligners at all times (at least 22 hours a day), and only remove them to eat and brush your teeth.
You then return every 3 to 4 weeks to monitor progress, check the condition of your teeth and gums, and leave with your next aligners.
As you progress through treatment, your teeth will gradually shift until they reach the final corrected position.
Aftermath
At the end of treatment, a retainer should systematically be placed behind the lower anterior teeth (incisors and canines), and the last splint worn at night in the maxilla (upper teeth) or a retainer made, depending on the individual case.
You will be informed of this as soon as your treatment simulation is presented. Without a retainer, teeth will move again, so it’s important to keep your teeth where your specialist has positioned them over time.
The best solution is to wear a mouthpiece on top at night and place a small wire on the bottom, glued to the inside of the teeth.
The results
If the ALIGNERS have been worn continuously and the restraint is well worn, the result is definitive.
This invisible orthodontic treatment is a real revolution, involving no social eviction and often replacing surgery.
The aim of this treatment is improvement, not perfection. If your expectations remain realistic, the obtained result should give you utmost satisfaction.

Associated treatments
To optimize the results of ALIGNERS treatment and achieve a radiant smile, teeth whitening with trays is recommended, to treat yellow teeth.
This treatment is carried out at home and lasts several weeks. Carbamide peroxide gel is applied in the trays, and before bedtime. Results appear progressively over the course of treatment, and last up to 2 years.
Dental veneers to enhance your smile
Dental veneers are small, thin ceramic shells that are placed on the front of the teeth to improve aesthetic imperfections in the smile, such as tooth size, alignment, shape and shade.
